*Part 3 of the series 'Trump's Second Term and the Rise of the Global Right — A Leftist Interpretation.' [Part 1](/reports/research/trump-global-right-01.md) provided a class-based examination of the fascism thesis; [Part 2](/reports/research/trump-global-right-02.md) examined the global right as the structural outcome of three decades of neoliberalism. This installment moves inside the ideology itself.*

## 1. Why an 'Ideological Dissection' Is Necessary

Korean-language analyses of Trumpism contain a recurring lacuna. Many media and academic articles stop at the moral designation that "MAGA = white supremacy." An editorial in *K Spirit* summarized it as "MAGA is ultimately a political courtship aimed at white supremacists who want to restore America as a 'white nation,'"[^1] while a KCI-indexed paper explains it as a three-part coalition centered on Trump: "religious right + political right + alt-right."[^2] This designation is **not wrong**. But it is insufficient.

It is insufficient for two reasons. First, the white nationalist frame **cannot account for the actual designers of the power structure in Trump's second term — the 'tech right' axis of Peter Thiel, J.D. Vance, Elon Musk, and Marc Andreessen**. They did not join MAGA because of "white working-class anger." Second, remaining at the level of condemning "white supremacy = moral evil" **cannot explain why it is able to simultaneously bind together** evangelical churches, Silicon Valley billionaires from Google, Palantir, and SpaceX, and laid-off machinists from the Rust Belt.

Ideology is the apparatus that sutures apparent contradictions into real political power. The ideology of Trumpism is the problem of **how three mutually contradictory axes — white nationalism, Christian nationalism, and the tech right — are articulated into a single political bloc**. Only by reading the mechanism of this articulation can we understand why the liberal optimism that "MAGA will soon collapse" keeps misfiring, and why South Korea's far-right discourse (Yoon Suk Yeol's support base: the "Taegeukgi + Jeon Gwang-hoon + Ilbe + Shin Ji-ye style techno-optimism") appears so similar to Trump.

## 2. The Faces of the Three Axes

### 2.1 The Tech Right — The Dark Enlightenment Takes Power

This is the axis least known in the Korean-language sphere. The current that Nick Land dubbed the "Dark Enlightenment" in 2012 began as the **Neoreactionary movement (NRx)** developed earlier by Curtis Yarvin (pen name Mencius Moldbug).[^3] Its core proposition is simple:

> "Democracy is a failed system. The state should be run like a corporation by a CEO-monarch. Humans are designed for a command-and-obedience structure." (Yarvin, 2008)

Yarvin's 2012 political platform goes by the acronym 'RAGE — Retire All Government Employees.' Dismantle the federal bureaucracy. This is precisely the program being executed in 2025 by **DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency)**, with Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy at the fore.

The financial and political articulation point of this current is **Peter Thiel**. The PayPal co-founder and Palantir chairman declared in a famous 2009 *Cato Unbound* essay, "I no longer believe that freedom and democracy are compatible."[^4] He did not leave this as a mere declaration. Over the past seventeen years, he has attended the annual Bilderberg Meeting every year except two, and has been a steering committee member since 2016. Aside from Kissinger and Marie-Josée Kravis, no American has attended Bilderberg more frequently in that period.[^5]

Two of Thiel's protégés now sit at the core of Trump's second term:

- **Vice President J.D. Vance**: Thiel provided millions of dollars to the super PAC for Vance's 2022 Senate campaign. Vance is a figure Thiel has cultivated for a decade.[^6] The Vance of 2016, who wrote *Hillbilly Elegy* as a neoconservative-liberal author, rapidly converted in the 2020s to **Catholic integralism + neoreaction**.
- **Musk**: The de facto leader of DOGE. He shares the background of growing up in late-apartheid South Africa. The Nazi-style salute incident of January 2025 was no accident. His worldview is a mixture of oligarchism, nationalism, Zionism, libertarianism, and transhumanism — and his grandparents were actual Nazis.[^7]

Other key figures: Marc Andreessen supports "techno-authoritarianism, corporate techno-dictatorship governance" and calls himself an "unpaid intern at DOGE." In 2016 he wrote, "anti-colonialism was an economic disaster for India for decades."[^8] David Sacks has become the 'emperor' of AI and cryptocurrency policy.

The political philosophy they share can be summarized in one sentence: **"Democracy is inefficient, so CEOs should govern, and the majority of the population exists to be ruled."** The racial implication is inevitable — once the question of who is qualified to be CEO arises, the answer is predetermined beneath the surface of meritocracy: white, male, engineer.

### 2.2 Evangelicalism — Dominionism and the 'Seven Mountains' Take Power

The second axis is evangelicalism, but it is crucial to note that **it is not traditional evangelicalism but a dominionist, authoritarian evangelicalism based on dominion theology** that has entered Trump's second term.

The core doctrine is the **Seven Mountains Mandate (7M, 7MM)** . First conceived in 1975 by Bill Bright (CCC) and Loren Cunningham (YWAM), then popularized in a 2013 book by C. Peter Wagner (New Apostolic Reformation, NAR), this doctrine commands Christians to "take dominion" over the **seven cultural mountains: religion, family, education, media, arts, economics, and government**.[^9] A published assessment notes that 7M, previously a peripheral doctrine within evangelicalism, **spread into the mainstream frame of American Christians after Trump's election**.[^10]

Characteristics of this dominionist evangelicalism:

1. **Politics = Spiritual Warfare**: The Democratic Party, the left, and secularism are "Satanic influences" — not objects of compromise but targets for removal.
2. **Christian Zionism**: The establishment of the state of Israel is seen as a prerequisite for the Second Coming. Therefore, unconditional support for Israel is not a foreign policy but a **theological command**. According to an analysis by the Institute for Strategic Studies (ISC) translating MRonline, 9 of the 40 key figures in the Trump camp are open supporters, and 6 are associated individuals.[^11]
3. **Moral Legislation**: Abortion, LGBTQ rights, sex education, and immigration are defined as the corruption of the 'seven mountains' that must be rectified through national legislation.

The representative figure is **Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth**. A fervent Christian Zionist obsessed with removing DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) programs from the military. Others in this camp include **Senior Advisor Stephen Miller** (overseeing immigration policy), **Charlie Kirk (TPUSA president)** , **Russell Vought (OMB director — actually believes Democrats are communists)**, and **Brooke Rollins (Secretary of Agriculture, formerly of CRA)** .[^12]

Notable point: **Traditional evangelicals, including Franklin Graham, have been excluded from Trump's second term**. What entered is the most dominionist and political faction of evangelicalism. This is a significant difference between Trump's first and second terms.

### 2.3 White Nationalism — The 'Glue' of the Ideology

The third axis is overt white nationalism. It operates less through any single official organization or figure within the Trump camp than as **a 'common sense' that pervades the entire camp**.

- Thiel's political donor network has long built a **pipeline for white right-wing young politicians** such as Blake Masters and Vance.[^13]
- Musk's official X account has repeatedly amplified Great Replacement Theory content since 2024.
- Tucker Carlson is the ideologue of the 'anti-imperialist right' while also a major popular disseminator of replacement theory.
- Stephen Miller's entire policy project — border closure, mass deportation, attacking birthright citizenship — is only intelligible through the implicit goal of **'preserving demographic whiteness.'**

An important analytical point here: **In 2024, Trump increased his vote share among Black, Hispanic, and Asian voters to the highest levels for a Republican in history.** Does this mean the 'white nationalism' frame is dissolving? No. It means that white nationalism has **expanded by absorbing the dynamics of 'honorary whiteness'** — partially shifting the boundary of 'real Americans' from race to an 'anti-immigrant, pro-order, anti-woke' culture, assimilating men of color who seek to enter that boundary. This is a variant of the 'expansionary dynamic' seen in the 1920s when Italian fascism temporarily co-opted southern peasants, and in the 1930s when German Nazism temporarily co-opted some Jewish capitalists.

## 3. Articulation — Why the Three Axes Become One Bloc

Liberal observers point out the obvious contradictions among these three axes: the tech right's transhumanism (Musk's brain-machine interface) clashes with evangelicalism's doctrine of humans as the image of God. The tech right's anti-democratic elitism clashes with white nationalism's populism of the 'alienated white worker.' Evangelical moral politics clashes with the tech right's libertarian stance on drugs and sexuality.

The contradictions are real. But political ideology is not a philosophy seminar. Contradictions are articulated **under a common enemy and common material interests**.

### 3.1 Common Enemy — The 'Woke Regime' and the 'Deep State'

All three axes share the **'woke regime' and the 'deep state'** as their primary adversaries.

- For the tech right, 'woke' is concretized in Silicon Valley diversity hiring quotas, ESG investing, and AI safety regulations. The narrative that 'DEI killed meritocracy' recurs in the public statements of Thiel and Andreessen.
- For evangelicalism, 'woke' is concretized in LGBTQ education in schools, Critical Race Theory (CRT), and abortion rights. It is framed as a 'Christian values war.'
- For white nationalism, 'woke' is concretized in immigration, affirmative action, and the 'narrative of white historical guilt.'

The content of the three fronts differs, but the name of the enemy is the same. And the institutional bearers of that enemy are identified as **the federal bureaucracy (the administrative state) and the university-media-NGO complex**. Yarvin's 'RAGE' (Retire All Government Employees), the evangelical call to 'abolish the Department of Education,' and Bannon's 'dismantle the administrative state' **start from entirely different theories but converge on the same practical program**. The 2025 federal layoffs, dismantling of USAID, and transfer of Education Department functions by DOGE were the material execution of this convergence.

### 3.2 Common Capital Base — The Bloc of Three Capitals

Here is the key point offered by the MRonline analysis translated by ISC. The **three pillars of capital** underpinning the Trump administration are:[^14]

1. **Silicon Valley Military-Industrial Complex**: Palantir, Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Anduril, SpaceX, OpenAI, Anthropic — all Pentagon contractors sharing the interest in framing China as an 'ontological rival.'
2. **Private Equity + Tech Monopoly**: PE capital concentrated in 'tech unicorns' acts as the interface of military, technology, and finance.
3. **Oil and Gas Capital**: Must eliminate the threat from the renewable energy industry and maintain monopoly. (Secretary of Energy Chris Wright, former Liberty Oilfield Services CEO; Interior Secretary Doug Burgum; Harold Hamm, etc.)

The 13 billionaire cabinet members of Trump's second term mostly belong to one of these three blocs. **This capital composition is exactly the 'material bearer' of the three ideological axes**:

- Silicon Valley capital → Tech right ideology (Thiel-Vance-Musk network)
- Oil capital + residual manufacturing capital from the Midwest and South → Evangelical + white nationalist regional base
- Private equity → 'Articulation capital' that funds all three axes indiscriminately

Recall the structure Trotsky identified in his analysis of German fascism in the 1930s: **Fascism is not the direct rule of monopoly capital, but a system in which monopoly capital mobilizes the popular energy of small capital, the petty bourgeoisie, and the lumpenproletariat toward its own program **through a specific ideological construction**. The three ideological axes of Trumpism are precisely the languages of this mobilization, each language articulated to the interests of a different fraction of capital.

### 3.3 Common Point of Convergence — The Cult of the Leader

All three axes share the structural feature of **converging on the single figure of Trump**.

- For the tech right, Trump is a provisional model of the 'CEO-monarch.' Imperfect, but the only figure actually attempting to run the state like a company.
- For evangelicalism, Trump is 'God's chosen instrument (the Cyrus motif)' — flawed in personal morality, but interpreted as the one God has appointed to take the seven mountains.
- For white nationalism, Trump is 'our guy' as president — the core is not policy content but 'whom he represents.'

These three narratives contradict each other, but **projected onto a single face, they become practically unified**. This is the core mechanism of Bonapartism that Marx captured in *The Eighteenth Brumaire of Louis Bonaparte*. The designation of 'right-wing Bonapartism as a path of fascization' proposed in Part 1 is confirmed precisely at this level.

## 4. Fault Lines — Where Can This Bloc Break?

Articulation is not permanent. There are three fault lines where the internal contradictions of the Trumpist bloc could become real.

**① Tech Right vs. Evangelicalism — Content of the Culture War**

Musk's vision of AI, robotics, and transhumanism will inevitably clash in the medium to long term with evangelical creationism. Musk's public push for 'population increase' (natalism) is a partial attempt at suturing. But as AI accelerates the replacement of labor, the livelihood base (manufacturing, construction, trucking) of evangelical small-town supporters will be destroyed, creating the **dilemma of tech capital destroying its own support base**.

**② White Working-Class Base vs. Billionaire Capital — The Class Contradiction Seen in Part 1**

Trump's second-term tariff policy is failing to rebuild the Rust Belt (Part 1). When economic promises are repeatedly frustrated, the support base will inevitably ask, 'Why isn't our life improving?' The 'economic populism' of the Bannon wing (tax the rich) and the anti-regulation, tax-cut agenda of the Thiel-Musk wing will collide head-on at this point.

**③ Christian Zionism vs. Non-Interventionism — Contradiction in Foreign Policy**

Evangelicalism's unconditional support for Israel and the 'non-interventionist, restraint' line represented by Vance, Colby, and Tucker Carlson become incompatible when the Middle East crisis deepens. This contradiction already began to surface in the 2025 Iran-Gaza phase.

These three fault lines are **not predetermined collapse points of the bloc, but points where leftist politics can intervene**. The strategy for this intervention will be the subject of Part 5.

## 5. Summary — The Structure of Trumpist Ideology

The propositions of this installment can be organized into a diagram.

```
            [ Capitals: Three Pillars ]
  Silicon Valley MIC   │   Oil & Gas Capital   │   Private Equity
          │                    │                │
     Ideology Production      Ideology Production      Ideology Production
          ↓                    ↓                ↓
     [ Tech Right ]          [ Evangelicalism ]       [ White Nationalism]
     Thiel·Vance·Musk        Hegseth·Vought          Miller·Carlson
     Yarvin·Dark Enl.        7M·Christian Zionism    Great Replacement
          │                    │                │
          └────── Common Enemy ──────────────────────┘
                  'Woke Regime', 'Deep State'
                        │
                 Dismantle Administrative State (DOGE)
                        │
                  [ Trump as Single Figure ]
              CEO-Monarch / God's Instrument / Racial Leader
```

This structure **only partially** supports the liberal critic's repeated prediction that "MAGA will soon self-destruct due to internal contradictions." The fault lines are real, but the articulation mechanisms — common enemy, common capital base, cult of the leader — are equally real. Analyses that fail to recognize that the articulation is not accidental but structurally necessary will repeat the error of the Democratic Party after Trump's first term, believing that the 'return of reason' would normalize everything.

## 6. Reference Points for the Korean Reader

Readers of this analysis in Korea will naturally compare it to the composition of the domestic far right. The conservative bloc displayed during the Yoon Suk Yeol administration — **Christian far right (Jeon Gwang-hoon) + chaebol capital + YouTube tech infrastructure + Taegeukgi mass mobilization** — superficially resembles the three-axis structure of Trumpism. But there are two decisive differences:

- **Absence of an Indigenous Tech Right Ideologue**: South Korea lacks the 'anti-democratic tech billionaire-intellectual' complex corresponding to Thiel. Jeong Yong-jin, Lee Jae-yong, and Lee Hae-jin do not produce political ideology. However, **the possibility of this axis being filled in the form of imported ideology** is real.
- **Difference in the Level of Evangelical Political Organization**: The far right of Korean Protestantism has mass mobilization capacity but lacks the think tank-legislative pipeline comparable to Heritage Foundation, AFPI, or CRA. However, the combination of the Unification Church-Jeon Gwang-hoon line with certain mid-sized conservative think tanks could fill this gap.

What the Korean left must watch is **how these three axes are translated and varied on Korean soil**. In Part 4, we will re-examine this analysis within the framework of imperialist restructuring — positioning Trump's second-term tariffs, alliance dismantling, and China decoupling as a form of imperialism in a period of hegemonic decline.
