Siberian Cossack regimental commander who made the Omsk coup of November 1918 with Volkov and Krasilnikov
A Siberian Cossack officer, he commanded the 1st Siberian Cossack Regiment on Volkov's Altai expedition in summer 1918. On the night of 17 November, at the Omsk banquet for General Janin, he, Volkov and Krasilnikov demanded "God Save the Tsar", a row that led to the arrest of the Directory ministers and Kolchak's accession. The three were acquitted at trial and promoted, and in December, now a colonel, he went to Chita to urge Semyonov to recognise Kolchak. In 1919 he helped Volkov crush a peasant rising in Atbasar district and received the Order of St George; his later life and the circumstances of his death are unknown.
