Boxheim Documents
복스하임 문서
Coup plans drawn up on 5 August 1931 by the judge and Nazi Party member Werner Best, named after the Boxheim farm at Lampertheim near Darmstadt in Hesse, where leading Hessian Nazis met several times that summer.
In depth
Assuming a Communist uprising, the plan had the SA take over state power, punish resistance with death, shoot anyone who failed to hand in weapons within 24 hours, and register and control all food stocks. Its publication in November 1931, after a party defector gave it to the Frankfurt police, caused a major controversy, but while high treason proceedings were opened against Best, Hitler sent Göring to assure the government that the plans had no connection with the party leadership.
