Jacobins
자코뱅파
Political forces associated with the Jacobin Club during the French Revolution. Its membership and positions changed as the revolution developed.
In depth
The club once included figures associated with both the Girondins and the Mountain. Its later splits and Montagnard ascendancy in 1793–1794 must be distinguished. The club, the parliamentary Mountain and the sans-culotte movement overlapped without constituting a single organization.
