Operation Chromite

크로마이트 작전

The codename for the strategic amphibious landing at Inchon (Incheon) during the Korean War, executed from 15 to 19 September 1950 under the command of General Douglas MacArthur. Involving some 75,000 troops and 261 naval vessels, the operation reversed the war's momentum in a single stroke and led to the recapture of Seoul on 28 September. MacArthur first used the codename on 23 July 1950 for a revised landing plan; the operation severed KPA supply lines and is regarded as the decisive turning point that shifted the initiative to UN forces.
