Members of other Freikorps joined it; the Sturmabteilung Roßbach fought within it as the “Volunteer Detachment Silesia”. On 21 May 1921 units under Peter von Heydebreck stormed the St. Annaberg, which Korfanty’s insurgents had occupied. It was led at its formation by Friedrich Wilhelm von Schwartzkoppen and from 20 May to 5 July 1921 by Karl Hoefer. Kurt Daluege, later chief of the Order Police, led its special police.
