Embedded Autonomy
내재적 자율성
A concept introduced by Peter Evans in his 1995 book of the same name, holding that successful developmental states must simultaneously satisfy two conditions: Weberian bureaucratic autonomy (insulation from capture by particularistic interests) and dense institutionalized links to society, especially private industrial capital (embeddedness). Without the former the state becomes predatory; without the latter it loses information and coordinating capacity. Evans tested the concept empirically through a comparative study of the information technology industries of Korea, Brazil, and India.
