Spacewalk

우주 유영

Activity performed by a cosmonaut or astronaut outside a spacecraft in the vacuum of space. On March 18, 1965, Soviet cosmonaut Alexei Leonov conducted the first spacewalk in history from Voskhod 2, spending 12 minutes and 9 seconds outside; his suit ballooned in the vacuum, nearly preventing re-entry. The Soviets called it 'entry into open space' (выход в открытый космос), while the American term 'extravehicular activity' (EVA) became the standard in English.
