Wife of Sergei Mironov whose oral recollections record life in a Chekist household during the Terror

Born Argiropulo, she was first married to Ivan Zarnitsky, a Chekist who in the 1920s was chief of staff of the OGPU border troops in the North Caucasus, and later became the second wife of the Chekist Sergei Mironov. They had no children and adopted her niece. After Mironov was shot at the end of the Great Terror, she married his cousin M. D. Korol in July 1941. She was arrested in 1942 and sentenced to five years in a corrective labour camp, and was rehabilitated in 1958.
