Komsomol secretary and wartime military council member who headed the Central Committee's party organs department in 1950

Born in 1903 in the village of Nikitino in Smolensk Governorate, he joined the RCP(b) in 1924. After Komsomol and party work in the Smolensk area he studied at the Moscow Machine-Building Institute and worked at aircraft plants in Moscow and Irkutsk. In 1938 he was a secretary of the Rostov regional committee and deputy head of the Central Committee's Department of Leading Party Organs, and from 1938 to 1945 a secretary of the Komsomol Central Committee. In the war he sat on the military councils of the Separate Guards Airborne Army and the 9th Guards Army, becoming a lieutenant general in 1944. From June to December 1950 he headed the Central Committee's Department of Party, Trade-Union and Komsomol Organs and then its Administrative Department, and in 1956–1961 he was responsible secretary of the party commission of the army's Main Political Directorate. He died in Moscow in 1973.
