Party official who headed the Central Committee's party organs departments after Stalin and became ambassador to Hungary
Born in Chernigov Governorate in 1909, he joined the VKP(b) in 1932. In 1941–1946 he was a secretary and then first secretary of district party committees in Moscow, and afterwards a deputy department head of the Moscow city committee. He was deputy head of the Central Committee's Department of Party, Trade-Union and Komsomol Organs in 1948–1952, its head from April 1953 to March 1954, and head of the Central Committee's Department of Party Organs for the Union Republics in 1954–1957. He was Soviet ambassador to Hungary from March 1957 to May 1959 and head of the Fourth European Department of the Foreign Ministry in 1960–1969. A candidate member of the CPSU Central Committee in 1956–1961, he died in Moscow in 1981.
