Bolshevik Politburo (October 1917)

볼셰비키 정치국 (1917년 10월)

A seven-member provisional leadership elected by the Bolshevik Central Committee at its meeting of 10 October (O.S.)/23 October 1917 to provide political direction for the armed uprising. It consisted of Lenin, Zinoviev, Kamenev, Trotsky, Stalin, Sokolnikov, and Bubnov, created alongside the resolution on insurrection, though some accounts suggest it never actually convened. It ceased to function immediately after the October Revolution succeeded; a permanent Politburo was established as a formal party organ at the 8th Party Congress in March 1919.
