A Pravda article published by Stalin on March 2, 1930, which attributed the excesses and coercion of full-scale collectivization to the 'overzealousness' of local cadres and ordered their correction. The article confirmed the agricultural artel as the basic form of the kolkhoz movement, condemned forced collectivization and the mechanical application of models across diverse regions, and triggered a temporary mass exodus of millions of households from the kolkhozes. Its title survives as an ironic catchphrase for groundless self-congratulation and loss of touch with reality.
