The political line of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) under Yang Kyung-soo's leadership, a pragmatic strategy combining plaza (street) mobilization with tactical alliances spanning progressive parties, civil society, and the liberal Democratic Party. Formalized at the KCTU's 2023 extraordinary delegates' conference as a political direction of 'parallel pursuit of plaza politics and direct politics,' it crystallized during the 2025 presidential election as the executive board's proposal to 'support progressive parties and candidates allied with progressive parties.' Breaking with the KCTU's 30-year tradition of exclusive progressive-party endorsement, the line opened a de facto path to alignment with Democratic Party candidate Lee Jae-myung, drawing internal criticism from the labor political independence camp for abandoning organizational principle.
