Article 6 of the Soviet Constitution
헌법 6조
A provision of the 1977 Brezhnev Constitution that declared the CPSU to be the 'leading and guiding force of Soviet society and the nucleus of its political system.' The article constitutionally guaranteed the party's one-party dictatorship, placing all state bodies and public organisations under its direction. Amended on 14 March 1990 by the 3rd Extraordinary Congress of People's Deputies, the 'leading role' language was removed and a multi-party system legalised, marking the formal end of Soviet one-party rule.
