Social democracy

사회민주주의

A name historically used by diverse socialist labour movements. Its contemporary association with parliamentary politics and welfare states should not be projected onto the entire past.

In depth

Bernstein and Luxemburg debated the relationship between reform and socialism within social democracy. Lenin’s party also once used the name. Whether a movement undertakes reforms is insufficient by itself to distinguish reformist from revolutionary positions.
