보안국, 우젱트 베즈피에첸스트바 (UB)
Urząd Bezpieczeństwa (UB, Security Office)
우젱트 베즈피에첸스트바(UB)는 1944~1956년 인민 폴란드의 비군사적 국가보안 기관들을 가리키는 통칭이다. 중앙 기관과 지방 보안국으로 조직되어 정치적 반대파와 지하조직을 감시하고 수사했으며, 시민 민병대(MO)와는 구별되는 비밀경찰 apparatus였다. 1956년 개편 뒤에는 주로 보안국의 후신인 보안청(SB)을 가리키는 명칭으로 바뀌었다.

1944년 폴란드 민족해방위원회의 공공보안부에서 출발한 기관들은 1944년 말 공공보안부와 1945년 공공보안부로 개편되었다. 현장 조직에는 주 보안국(WUBP), 시 보안국(MUBP), 군 보안국(PUBP)이 있었고, 중앙기관은 국내 정보, 방첩, 통신 감시, 정치 수사, 교도소와 내부보안 병력에 관여했다. 1954년 공공보안위원회로 재편되었으며, 1956년 11월 보안청(SB)이 이를 계승했다. 포즈난 봉기에서 코하노프스키 거리의 주 보안국 청사는 시위대와 무장 충돌을 벌인 장소가 되었다.
