Chernobyl Liquidator

1986년 체르노빌 원전 참사 이후 방사능 오염을 제거하고 사고 수습에 동원된 군인·소방관·과학자·노동자들을 총칭하는 소련의 공식 용어. 약 526,000명(일부 추산 600,000명)이 동원되어 소방, 방사성 잔해 제거, 석관(sarcophagus) 건설, 오염 지역 제염 작업에 투입되었으며, 이들 중 상당수가 고선량 방사선에 피폭되었다. '청산인'이라는 완곡어법은 소련 당국이 '체르노빌 원전 사고 결과 청산 참가자'라는 공식 지위를 부여하며 사용한 표현으로, 생존자들은 구소련 국가들에서 참전용사에 준하는 사회적 보상을 받는다.
