Eurodollar
미국 외부 은행에 예치된 미국 달러 표시 예금. 1957년 소련이 헝가리 봉기 이후 미국 내 자산 동결을 우려해 모스크바 나로드니 은행 런던 지점으로 달러를 이전하면서 시작되었으며, 이후 미국 은행 규제(준비금 요건·예금보험료·이자 상한)를 우회하는 역외 달러 시장으로 폭발적으로 성장했다. 브레튼우즈 체제 붕괴 이후에도 달러의 국제적 기축통화 지위를 유지·확대하는 핵심 인프라로 기능했으며, 2020년대 스테이블코인의 등장은 이를 온체인으로 이식한 디지털 연장으로 평가된다.
