Black Ribbon Day

매년 8월 23일, 나치 독일과 소련의 불가침조약(몰로토프-리벤트로프 조약) 체결일에 맞춰 전체주의 희생자를 기리는 추모의 날. 1985년 캐나다의 에스토니아계 활동가 마르쿠스 헤스가 제안하고 1986년 토론토에서 첫 시위가 열렸으며, 디아스포라 공동체의 연례 시위로 퍼져나가며 1989년 「발트의 길」의 직접적인 원천이 되었다. 2009년 유럽의회는 이 날을 공식 기념일로 채택했다.
