Interim Peace (Välirauha)
겨울전쟁을 끝낸 모스크바 강화조약(1940년 3월)과 계속전쟁 발발(1941년 6월) 사이의 15개월을 가리키는 핀란드어 표현이다. 이 막간에 소련은 페차모 니켈 광산 지분, 병력 통과권, 핀란드 대통령 후보 거부권까지 요구하며 정치적 압박을 이어갔고, 나치 독일은 무기 금수 해제와 병력 통과 협정으로 핀란드를 은밀히 포섭했다. 핀란드는 살파선 요새화와 재군비, 42만 피난민 정착을 진행하는 한편, 잃은 땅을 되찾으려면 독일 편에 서야 한다는 결론으로 기울어갔다.
