백색 테러

White Terror

러시아 내전(1917–1922) 동안 백군과 반볼셰비키 세력이 자행한 폭력과 대량 살상을 가리킨다. 적색 테러와 달리 단일 포고령으로 시작되지는 않았으나, 군사독재 체제 아래에서 군사재판·방첩 기관의 즉결 처형, 그리고 무엇보다 유대인을 겨냥한 대규모 포그롬의 형태로 전개되었다. 백색 테러는 '우발적 과잉'이라는 평가와 '조직적 이데올로기 폭력'이라는 평가 사이에서 오늘날까지 첨예한 역사학적 논쟁의 대상이다.
