Jupiter missile (PGM-19)

미국이 1950년대 후반 개발한 단일 단계 액체연료 중거리 탄도미사일(MRBM)로, 1.44메가톤 W49 열핵탄두를 탑재하고 사거리는 약 2,400km에 달했다. 베르너 폰 브라운이 이끈 육군 탄도미사일국(ABMA)이 설계하고 크라이슬러가 제작했으며, 1961년 이탈리아에 30기, 터키 이즈미르 인근에 15기가 배치되어 모스크바를 사정권에 두었다. 흐루쇼프가 쿠바 미사일 배치의 명분으로 직접 거론한 도발이었으며, 1962년 쿠바 미사일 위기 해소를 위한 비밀 합의로 1963년 철수되었다.
